PerfoAds vs TrueClicks

Updated By

Short answer

Choose TrueClicks if your total Google and Microsoft Ads spend is $50K a month or less: it's free, with unlimited accounts. Choose PerfoAds if 1 online store spends over $50K a month on Google Ads. PerfoAds stays at $149 per account, while TrueClicks starts at $249 a month, or $208 a month paid yearly.

The short version

TrueClicks is free "forever up to $50K/mo" of ad spend, and that's a real edge. If every account you run adds up to less than that, start there. You'll pay nothing and get unlimited accounts.

PerfoAds bills a flat $149 per Google Ads account, at any spend level. So it only saves money once spend climbs past what the free plan allows. It's also built around online stores, with product title tools and approve-first fixes.

When the TrueClicks free plan is enough

TrueClicks lists "All features" on the free plan. These are its limits:

  • Spend cap. "The free plan has a hard limit of $50K/mo." That's the total for every account you link.
  • Team. Everyone on it must share 1 email domain. An agency can't add a client's staff on their own email.
  • Help. Setup is self-serve, and chat or email replies come within 2 business days.
  • Going over. On any plan, TrueClicks "will simply no longer update the results of the accounts that make you go over your limit until you upgrade."

If you run 1 store at $30K a month on Google Ads, TrueClicks costs $0 and PerfoAds costs $149. Pick TrueClicks unless you need PerfoAds' product title rewrites or its 30-day rollback, which is in beta.

What you pay, setup by setup

TrueClicks puts you on the plan "closest to your actual monthly spend." The $100K plan covers you up to $150K, and so on up the list. PerfoAds ignores spend and counts accounts.

Here's the bill for 10 setups. TrueClicks yearly is its annual price shown per month.

Your setupTrueClicks monthlyTrueClicks yearlyPerfoAdsLower bill
1 account, $40K spendFreeFree$149TrueClicks
1 account, $80K spend$249$208$149PerfoAds
1 account, $300K spend$449$374$149PerfoAds
2 accounts, $45K totalFreeFree$298TrueClicks
2 accounts, $120K total$249$208$298TrueClicks
2 accounts, $200K total$349$291$298PerfoAds by $51 monthly; TrueClicks by $7 yearly
3 accounts, $300K total$449$374$447PerfoAds by $2 monthly; TrueClicks by $73 yearly
3 accounts, $500K total$549$458$447PerfoAds
5 accounts, $100K total$249$208$745TrueClicks
10 accounts, $1M total$899$749$1,490TrueClicks

Here's the rule behind it. PerfoAds has the lower bill only when your total spend is above these lines:

AccountsPerfoAdsLower if billed monthly overLower if TrueClicks is paid yearly, over
1$149$50K$50K
2$298$150K$250K
3$447$250K$400K
4$596$625K$875K
5$745$875K$875K

With 6 or more accounts, TrueClicks costs less until total spend passes at least $875K. A 6-month TrueClicks plan takes 10% off the monthly price.

Based in the SEPA area, most of Europe? TrueClicks then sets "your spend level and the corresponding price" in euros.

Who TrueClicks is for

TrueClicks suits pay-per-click (PPC) teams and agencies watching many accounts. Account count never moves the price. Agencies "can resell TrueClicks to their clients at no extra cost," in its words.

It also fits if you run Microsoft Ads next to Google Ads. Audits and alerts cover both. Its 1-click Fix works on Google Ads only for now: "We don't support fixing issues directly for Microsoft Advertising yet."

Alerts come switched on. Every account starts with default alerts, such as a 70% or bigger drop in yesterday's clicks against the same day a week before. You can add your own alerts and set them up for many accounts in 1 go.

The TrueClicks MCP links its results to AI apps like Claude or ChatGPT. An MCP is a connector that lets an AI app read data from another tool. TrueClicks says it's "Read-only, so it can't change a thing in your accounts," and it comes with every plan, free included. For other AI tools that read or change Google Ads, see the best AI agents for Google Ads.

Pick TrueClicks if you spend under $50K in total, or you want a 30-day trial with no spend cap first.

Who PerfoAds is for

PerfoAds is built for online stores on Google Ads, on Shopify or another platform. It also suits a freelancer with 2 accounts that spend over $150K a month together, or 3 that spend over $250K.

Each audit runs 166 automatic checks across 30+ data sources and scores the account out of 100. It covers Search, Shopping, Performance Max and Demand Gen. Performance Max is 1 campaign that runs across "YouTube, Display, Search, Discover, Gmail, and Maps" (Google Ads Help). Demand Gen ads run "on YouTube, Discover, Gmail, and the Google Display Network" (Google Ads Help).

Once you turn monitoring on, PerfoAds checks every day at 06:00 UTC for spend spikes, broken tracking and ads Google won't approve. Each check re-reads your campaigns, budgets and search terms.

Pick PerfoAds if 1 store spends over $50K a month and you want the bill to stay put as spend grows.

Who approves changes, and what can be undone

TrueClicks: its Fix button loads ready-made fixes for an issue, such as broken links in ads. You pick a fix, edit it if you like, then submit. Its help center puts it this way: "You just need to review, make a few tweaks, submit your changes, and you're done!" Fixing needs your own Google Ads login linked to TrueClicks.

Auto-apply works differently. You choose settings and negative keyword lists for your campaigns. Google says negative keywords "let you exclude search terms from your campaigns" (Google Ads Help). Each task runs in preview, which only lists problems, or in auto-apply. In auto-apply, TrueClicks makes the changes itself, "while you sleep." A log shows every run from the past 30 days. Its pages don't state an undo for fixes or auto-apply. Its AI Assistant can draft changes, like new ads or budgets, for you to post yourself in Google Ads Editor. TrueClicks says "nothing changes in your account without your sign-off."

TrueClicks never shows up as a user in your account. Changes go "under the same login you use for Google Ads," so your own email appears in change history.

PerfoAds: PerfoAds says it "never changes anything in your account without your explicit approval." Approve and undo are in beta, so they're still being tested. For 30 days, you can roll back most changes PerfoAds made. Rollback covers only what PerfoAds changed, never your own edits or another tool's. One-click Apply Fix, which writes a change you approved into Google Ads for you, is opt-in and in beta too.

Google Ads itself: change history lists edits made through tools too. Google says it "also displays changes made via automated rules, Google Ads API (AdWords API), and Google Ads Editor." You "can undo most types of changes that were made in the last 30 days" there (Google Ads Help). That's your fallback with either tool.

Store features

Your product feed is your product list for Google. It lives in Merchant Center, "a free tool" where Google says you "upload and manage your product data" so products "appear across Google Search, Maps, YouTube and more" (Google Merchant Center Help).

PerfoAds: its Feed Optimizer syncs your product list from Merchant Center. Each account gets up to 1,000 rewritten product titles a month, and they use AI credits. A 1-click push back to Merchant Center is in beta. It's part of the $149 plan.

TrueClicks: its audit page lists "Shopping growth opportunities" among more than 30 growth checks it runs weekly. Link Merchant Center, and it shows "all issues (account, feed, and item issues)" from Merchant Center's Diagnostics page inside TrueClicks. Its pages don't state a tool that rewrites product titles or edits your feed.

Limits on both sides

PerfoAds limits:

  • No free trial. Money-back isn't stated.
  • Google Ads only.
  • 10 accounts at most, $149 each.
  • Under $50K in total spend, TrueClicks costs nothing and PerfoAds costs $149 per account.
  • Approvals, rollback, Apply Fix and the Merchant Center push are still in beta.
  • It's new: PerfoAds started in March 2026.

TrueClicks limits:

  • The free plan stops at $50K a month, and every user needs the same email domain.
  • Accounts that push you past your plan stop updating until you upgrade.
  • No refunds on monthly plans.
  • Undo isn't stated for fixes or auto-apply.
  • 1-click fixes work on Google Ads, not Microsoft Ads yet.
  • It shows Merchant Center feed issues, but its pages name no tool to rewrite titles or edit the feed.

How to switch

From TrueClicks to PerfoAds:

  1. Set your auto-apply tasks to preview or off. With 2 tools editing the same campaigns, you can't tell which change worked.
  2. Unlink accounts on the Link Accounts page in TrueClicks.
  3. On a paid monthly plan, cancel or downgrade. TrueClicks says there's no contract.
  4. TrueClicks never appears as a user in Google Ads, so there's nothing to remove there. Remove TrueClicks from the apps on your Google Account. After that, Google says "the app can't access your Google Account" (Google Account Help).

From PerfoAds to TrueClicks:

  1. Start TrueClicks while PerfoAds still runs: the free plan if you're under $50K, or the 30-day trial.
  2. Within 30 days, roll back the PerfoAds changes you'd rather reverse. Rollback is in beta and covers most changes.
  3. Cancel PerfoAds. There's no contract.
  4. Remove PerfoAds from your Google Account apps. Its about page says access "can be revoked at any time from Google account settings."

Before you judge either tool's advice, know your target. The break-even ROAS calculator shows the lowest return your margin can take. ROAS is sales per $1 of ad spend. Before you turn on auto-apply in any tool, check Google's own auto-apply settings.

FAQ

Is TrueClicks really free?

Yes, up to $50K a month in total ad spend, with every feature. The cap is hard, and all users must share 1 email domain. Above $50K, plans start at $249 a month.

Is PerfoAds cheaper than TrueClicks?

Only past the free plan. For 1 account over $50K a month, PerfoAds is $149 against $249 or more on TrueClicks, or $208 a month paid yearly. With 2 accounts, PerfoAds wins on a monthly bill above $150K in total spend, or above $250K against yearly. With many accounts, TrueClicks is usually cheaper.

Can you undo changes made with TrueClicks?

Its pages don't state an undo. Its changes show in Google Ads change history under your email. In that history, Google says you "can undo most types of changes that were made in the last 30 days" (Google Ads Help). On PerfoAds, a beta rollback reverses most of its own changes within 30 days.

Which is better for an agency?

TrueClicks, for most agencies. It has no account cap, covers Microsoft Ads and allows reselling. PerfoAds stops at 10 Google Ads accounts.
