PerfoAds vs Opteo

Updated By

Short answer

Choose Opteo if all your accounts together spend $25,000 a month or less. Basic covers up to 10 accounts for $129. Choose PerfoAds if 1 online store spends more than that. It costs $149 a month per Google Ads account at any spend. Between $25,000 and $250,000, Opteo charges that store $249 or $499.

All prices are monthly list prices on a monthly bill. A cell that says "Not stated" means the vendor's own pages say nothing on it. The tool may still do it.

PerfoAds wrote this page, and our own row gets the same checks as Opteo's.

What you pay, setup by setup

The 2 tools count different things. Opteo adds up the spend of every account you link. Its own example: 2 accounts at $10,000 each count as $20,000. PerfoAds counts accounts and ignores spend.

That makes the answer depend on your setup. Here's the monthly bill for 9 setups.

4 accounts, $200K totalAgency$499$596Opteo
8 accounts, $20K totalBasic$129$1,192Opteo

The short rule, on monthly bills:

  • $25,000 or less in total spend: Opteo costs less at any account count up to 10.
  • $25,000 to $100,000: PerfoAds costs less for 1 account. From 2 accounts, Opteo does.
  • Over $100,000, up to $250,000: PerfoAds costs less for 1 to 3 accounts. From 4, Opteo does.

Opteo allows "a 5% leeway" over a plan's spend limit before you must act. So a month at $26,000 can stay on Basic. Past that, you unlink accounts or move up a plan.

Yearly billing moves 1 line. With 2 months off, we work out Opteo at $107.50 a month for Basic, $207.50 for Professional and $415.83 for Agency. 3 PerfoAds accounts cost $447, so 3 accounts between $100,000 and $250,000 come out cheaper on Opteo yearly. 1 big account still costs less on PerfoAds either way.

Who Opteo is for

Opteo fits freelancers, small teams and agencies whose accounts spend modest amounts. Basic holds 10 accounts, and Agency holds 75. Team members are free, with "no limit on the number of seats."

Its core is a feed of suggestions it calls Improvements. It scans your accounts every day. Opteo says a fix is "often something that can be applied directly from Opteo in one click." You can also apply them in bulk. Alerts can go to Slack, the team chat app.

Opteo also has AI. Chat lives inside Opteo and can "make changes directly to your Google Ads accounts." The Opteo MCP links Opteo to an AI assistant "such as Claude or ChatGPT." An MCP is a link that lets an AI app read your ad data and, here, make changes.

Pick Opteo if your total spend is $25,000 a month or less, or you run many small client accounts.

Who PerfoAds is for

PerfoAds fits the owner or marketer of 1 online store, on Shopify or any other platform, who runs Google Ads. It also suits a freelancer with 2 or 3 accounts that together spend $100,000 to $250,000 a month.

Each audit runs 166 automatic checks across 30+ data sources and ends in a score out of 100. It reads Search, Shopping, Performance Max and Demand Gen campaigns. Performance Max is a Google campaign type that shows ads across "YouTube, Display, Search, Discover, Gmail, and Maps" (Google Ads Help). Demand Gen runs "on YouTube, Discover, Gmail, and the Google Display Network" (Google Ads Help).

PerfoAds runs daily alerts once you turn on monitoring. At 06:00 UTC (world standard time) it looks for spend spikes, broken tracking and ads Google disapproved. Campaigns, search terms and budgets are re-checked every 24 hours.

Pick PerfoAds if 1 store spends more than $25,000 a month and you want the price to stay put as you grow.

Who approves each change, and can you undo it?

Opteo: you push each Improvement yourself. In Chat, "every change comes up as a confirmation card first." The MCP also asks you to confirm, and "Changes go live as soon as they're confirmed." 1 setting acts on its own if you turn it on. Pause Spend When Over Budget pauses all campaigns when monthly spend hits your limit, then turns them back on next month.

Opteo doesn't state an undo. It does keep a Changelog: "a complete history of every change and action taken in an ad account through Opteo." It shows before and after values, and you can export it as a CSV file, a spreadsheet format.

PerfoAds: it "never changes anything in your account without your explicit approval." Approve and undo are in beta, which means they're still being tested. For 30 days, you can roll back most of the changes PerfoAds made. That rollback covers PerfoAds changes only, never edits made by you or another tool. With One-click Apply Fix, PerfoAds puts an approved change into Google Ads for you. You opt in to it, and it's in beta too.

Google Ads itself: whatever tool made a change, it shows in Google's change history. There, Google says you "can undo most types of changes that were made in the last 30 days" (Google Ads Help). Opteo's changes show there under the email of the Google login you connected. Opteo calls it the email "associated with your MCC." An MCC, or manager account, is a Google Ads account built to "view and manage multiple Google Ads accounts" (Google Ads Help).

Seeing changes nobody on your team made? Google may be applying its own suggestions. Google applies them regularly "when you turn on" auto-apply (Google Ads Help). Read how to turn off auto-apply recommendations.

Store features

A store's Shopping ads run on its product feed, the list of products Google shows. That feed lives in Merchant Center, which Google calls "a free tool" for showing products to shoppers (Google Merchant Center Help).

PerfoAds: its Feed Optimizer pulls your product list from Merchant Center. It can rewrite up to 1,000 product titles a month per account. Pushing those titles back to Merchant Center in 1 click is in beta. It comes with the $149 plan.

Opteo: its feature menu lists "Manage Shopping Ads." Its pages don't state Merchant Center support. Chat "can't yet create Display, Video, Shopping or Performance Max campaigns." The MCP can handle Performance Max and Display campaigns.

Limits on both sides

PerfoAds limits:

  • No free trial, and a money-back guarantee isn't stated.
  • Google Ads only.
  • 1 plan caps you at 10 accounts, each billed $149.
  • Under $25,000 in total spend, Opteo Basic costs less.
  • 4 parts are still in beta: approve, undo, Apply Fix and the push to Merchant Center.
  • A young product, founded in March 2026.

Opteo limits:

  • The plan limit counts total spend across all linked accounts, so growth can push you up a plan.
  • Basic refreshes data once every 24 hours.
  • Undo isn't stated. You undo in Google Ads change history.
  • Its pages don't state how many checks it runs.
  • Its sales pages price Google Ads. They don't say what other platforms' spend costs.
  • Chat changes Google Ads only. Microsoft, Meta, LinkedIn and TikTok are read-only there.

How to switch

From Opteo to PerfoAds:

  1. Export Opteo's Changelog as CSV, so you keep a record of past changes.
  2. Turn off Pause Spend When Over Budget if you use it. 2 tools acting on the same budgets make results hard to read.
  3. Cancel before your renewal date. Opteo keeps your access until the end of the current billing period.
  4. Opteo connects through the Google login you signed in with, which can be a different email from your Opteo login. Its help center says this "gives Opteo third-party API access via standard OAuth permissions," the usual Google sign-in permission for apps. Opteo's pages name no manager account of its own, so there's no manager link to unlink. Remove Opteo from the apps linked to that Google login. Once you do, Google says "the app can't access your Google Account" (Google Account Help).

From PerfoAds to Opteo:

  1. Start Opteo's 14-day trial while PerfoAds still runs. Have a payment method ready.
  2. Roll back any PerfoAds change you don't want, within 30 days.
  3. Cancel PerfoAds. There's no contract.
  4. Remove PerfoAds from the apps linked to your Google login. PerfoAds says access "can be revoked at any time from Google account settings."

Whichever you pick, set a target first. The break-even ROAS calculator shows the return your margin needs. ROAS means the sales you get back for each $1 spent on ads.
